One week down, only eleven to go…

What’s this you ask? I am taking part in Julia Buckley’s 12 week transformation programme. I am also organising my wedding, working full time, writing my weekly column, thinking of starting my own business and I have just started back at school. Am I crazy? Probably.

However, after one week I am really excited about the future eleven weeks will bring. Taking before photos were the icing on the cake. There is no denying what a photograph shows and what it triggers in your mind. Every time you reach for that piece of cake you will just think of the photos.

The whole set up for the transformation programme is so motivating. Julia sends through the videos and pointers on how to follow the exercises. There is also a Facebook group that has past and current participants who all pitch together to share their experiences and opinions.

I am really enjoying the exercises, although I do find it hard to get into the mind frame of actually doing it. Once I am warming up, I am already feeling hyped for intense training. I just have to remind myself of that feeling when I am lying in bed or just in from work.

A major part of exercising is watching what you eat. This is the part that I am finding really hard. You have to be super organised and really spend 25 minutes each night preparing your food for your next day at work. Being a typical Irish person, I was raised on spuds. Oh and we do love a cup of tea with toast and real butter. This is the type of stuff that doesn't work when you are exercising so much. I have had to overhaul my eating tactics and bring in so much more fruit and vegetables. I am just about managing my food intake after week one. I can only hope this week will be easier.

I will keep you updated on my progress!

Tempest Got Talent- Omagh

Shopping in Omagh in the past has been a bit boring. Shops have opened and closed constantly over the past few years due to the recession. But now, we do have a good variety of clothes, shoes and jewellery stores. It’s important for stores to constantly be looking at competitors and offering something that little bit extra.   So it’s good to see local store Tempest step up their game with some ‘Tempest got Talent’. It’s a great way to involve the local community in a fun competition whilst attracting new customers.

I was in the town last Saturday and noticed a great buzz in the showground’s. With local business Chez Manu outside Tempest making DEVINE crepes and entertainment, what more could you want with the sun shining.

I spoke to store manager of Omagh Tempest, Deborah McLaren about the event.

Tempest got talent is a talent competition just like Britain’s Got Talent.  We decided to run the competition to create some family entertainment over the summer. Every Saturday we have dancers, singers and various other talented local people perform here in the store.   We then upload the act onto Facebook and the person with the most votes will win various prizes.”

Pop into your local Tempest for a variety of concessions for the fashion conscious female. Oh, and now males with Jack Jones! No more standing outside boys!

Vita Liberata Review

I have said before that I don’t really do tan. For the simple reason that looking like a reptile when it wears off just doesn't appeal to me. I have tried many tans and much prefer instant tan. Until now that is. I got sent Vita Viberata tan by cheapperfume.ie and I am so impressed. I applied one layer for my birthday as I was going for something to eat. The moose format meant it was really easy to apply and smells rather nice.

“Using a special combination of natural nourishing extracts and the unique pHen02 technology, Vita Liberata has reinvented self tan. pHenomenal contains all the USPs of our other tanning products, but can last up to 4 times longer.”

As you can see from the pictures of before and after the results are clearly visible. I wasn't exactly white to start off with as I had got a little colour on a recent trip away, however I just love the fact that this tan is long lasting. Promising to last up to 3 weeks, it has been over a week now and there are no signs of the dreaded reptile skin. With a special offer available online only at £25, this is definitely a steal and totally worth trying out.

I got sent more goodies to review so stay tuned!

Veil or no Veil????

I never actually realised the significance of a veil until I decided to write about it.
Basically, the meaning of wearing a veil is recorded as “In the eighteenth century the veil evolved into a symbol of modesty and chastity where it remains to this day.”
I don’t think I will go into much more detail on the history of the veil – you can surprise yourself when you Google it.

Canada so far

Well I am currently in Canada for 6 weeks! What an amazing time so far. Niagara falls is definitely the highlight. Its just amazing, I actually thought it was a wonder of the world (blonde!) We done the maid of the mist boat ride that takes you right into the bottom of the falls. Yes, you get a tad bit wet but its worth it. When are you ever going to see such a sight again?

M&S launch new Limited Collection nail colours!

I had the pleasure of trying out the latest Limited Collection Nail Colours from Marks and Spencer. As you can see, its all about the pretty pastels. I thought with the colour I might need a few coats but was surprised when it was only one coat that produced this! Do you ever paint your nails and think they are dry and go to stick the kettle on only to see you have smudged some of your nice nails? Well guess what, this didn't happen either! It was super quick at drying and not a blip in sight.
Get yourself down to your nearest M&S to grab these little beauties at only £3.50 each. Check out the other colours available. Also available at www.marksandspencer.com
